The Library does not loan to individuals, but provides inter-library loans to other libraries under the conditions of the Australian Interlibrary Resource Sharing Code. It should be noted however, that items on inter-library loan are subject to recall before the due date should the items be required by the High Court. In addition, books sent to and from the High Court Library are sent via Registered Mail. Books from the Rare Book Collection, the High Court Collection and recently acquired books are not available for loan. Bound volumes of Reports and Journals are not available for loan, but copies of individual reports of cases and journal articles will be provided. Requests for inter-library loans should be placed via Libraries Australia Document Delivery (LADD) system wherever possible.
The catalogue search is made available to the public to enable researchers and the legal profession to identify what publications are held in the Court collection.
