High Court Amendment (Appeal and Other Matters) Rules 2017

These amendments to the High Court Rules 2004 take effect from 1 January 2018.  These amendments amend the appellate procedures, expanding the timeline for filing of material in advance fo the hearing of appeals.  The Amendment Rules change the sequence and form of the some of the material filed by the parties in appeals.

The Amendment Rules also make some other changes which are outlined in the Explanatory Memorandum available at the link above.

High Court Amendment (Fees) Rules 2017

These Amendment Rules amend Schedule 2 of the High Court Rules 2004 which specifies the amount which solicitors, who are entitled to practise in the High Court, may charge and be allowed on taxation of costs by the Taxing Officer of the Court in respect of proceedings in the Court.   This Schedule comes into effect on 1 January 2018.
