| From a position halfway along the ceremonial ramp, the full grandeur of the 40-metre tall building is apparent. The entire front of the building is constructed of glass panels which allow the viewer to see the interior of the large Public Hall. To the right (East) is the elevated walkway to the entrance of the National Gallery of Australia. Turning further right and looking back down the ramp, alongside the waterfall, you can see the refurbished Government Administration Building (built 1927) and, above the trees to the right, the flagpole of Parliament House. Turning further right until facing West, the National Library can be seen past the corridor of trees, and behind it is Black Mountain, with the landmark Telstra Tower atop.
