This view is taken from the roof of the High Court building, and affords a 360-degree panorama of the central Canberra area. Beginning looking west towards Black Mountain, with the Telstra Tower atop, you move to the right, past the Captain Cook Fountain in Lake Burley Griffin and the central business district to the suburbs of Campbell and Russell with Mount Ainslie in the background. On Aspen Island, in front of the Department of Defence complex in Russell, you see the Carillon.

Moving further to the right, you look East across the Kings Avenue Bridge and the roof of the National Gallery of Australia toward the suburb of Fyshwick and the city of Queanbeyan. Further around are the suburbs of Barton and Red Hill and then, looking South, you come across Parliament House and, immediately in front of it, Old Parliament House. Further to the right is the National Science and Technology Centre and, behind it, the National Library. You then return to your starting point at Black Mountain.
