Transcripts

Text

The High Court has its own Court Reporting service which provides an accurate transcript of proceedings for the use of the Justices. The High Court’s transcript is a record of its proceedings and includes the full text citations referred to by counsel during hearings.

The transcript is usually available the day after the Court rises in Canberra, and if the Court sits outside Canberra within a few days of the hearing.

The transcript is made available free of charge to legal practitioners, litigants and the public on AustLII and on Jade.

These websites have transcripts available for matters heard from 1994 to current. For access to older transcripts, contact the Registry. Charges under the High Court of Australia (Fees) Regulations 2022 may apply.
