Offices of the Registry
The Principal Registry of the High Court of Australia is located at the seat of the Court in Canberra. There are offices of the Registry at the capital city of each State and in Darwin. Click here for contact details.
Opening hours
The Canberra building is open to the public from:
Monday to Friday: 9.45 am to 4.30 pm
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, please note that the High Court Building is presently closed on Sundays.
Normal Court sitting hours are from:
10.00 am to 12.45 pm and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm
The building is closed on public holidays. Admission to the High Court building is free of charge.

The office hours of the Registry shall be from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Documents must be lodged by 4.00 pm Monday to Friday to be filed on that day, any act done after 4.00 pm on a day shall be taken to have been done on the next day on which the Registry is open.
