Offices of the Registry
The Principal Registry of the High Court of Australia is located at the seat of the Court in Canberra. There are offices of the Registry at the capital city of each State and in Darwin. Click here for contact details.
Opening hours
The Canberra building is open to the public from:
Monday to Friday: 9.45 am to 4.30 pm
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, please note that the High Court Building is presently closed on Sundays.
Normal Court sitting hours are from:
10.00 am to 12.45 pm and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm
The building is closed on public holidays. Admission to the High Court building is free of charge.
HCA Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak
No face to face services will be provided at the counter.
While the counters are closed, we are still working in registries and remotely to provide services and support to practitioners and litigants. Some of the Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra Registry staff are still working remotely.
